This notice is being published in connection with changes in UK and EU law – specifically in the UK, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
The APSC stores data about its members including name, postal address, phone number, email (if supplied), subscription payment dates, amounts and method of payment. This data will be held only by the Secretary, Treasurer and Bulletin Editor for the express purpose of carrying out the legitimate activities of the APSC.
Information supplied by members will only be used by the APSC lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
We may use this information to provide membership services, for example:
· sending the Bulletin by post which will include details of meetings, other occasional news information and subscription renewals;
· to carry out any other obligations arising from membership subscriptions;
· contacting members by telephone, email or post on matters arising directly from their membership.
We will not share members data with any other member without written consent. We will not share or sell information about members to any third party. The data will only be held as long as a member remains a member. Any data will be immediately deleted once a member ceases to be a member. We will hold any personal information on computer or memory stick; our systems are retained only in the direct ownership of the officers of the Society. If a member advises us of any inaccuracies or if he/she instructs the APSC that we may no longer retain personal data we will delete or correct them promptly as appropriate.
